Meet the Society6 Wall Tapestries
Since launching these suckers on Society6, Wall Tapestries have quickly become a "need that" in home decor. They're great for indoor and outdoor use. Hang 'em on your walls, over your headboard, use as a festival flag or block the wind, sand and sun at the beach. The colors are rich and fabric is machine washable (cold water + tumble dry). And to that lingering question - Ya...totally fort friendly. See artists featured just below the video.
S6 Timelapse: Incredible Watercolor Speed Painting w/ Agnes-Cecile
Prepare to be put into a trance. Agnes-Cecile's watercolor painting, "Breathe In, Breathe Out", makes for an impressive timelapse to say the least. Silvia Pelissero, the Italian artist's real name, has a naturally lit studio surrounded by plants in Rome. After a one year break from creating videos, watch her get back into it (which we gladly collab'd on) as she works through the intricate details of her subject's eyes, lips, hair, upper body and plants one stroke at a time. She's earned support in droves for…
New Limited Edition Screen Print by Brazilian Artist Zansky [For Sale]
The insanely talented Zansky is at it again. Producing this limited edition screen print from Sao Paolo, Brazil and shipping to LA, he uses abstractions found in Google Street View to produce our latest collab - Fortuna #1. This is part of his Fortuna series (more info below vid). As an experimental screen printer, he's a sucker for the analog process and hand-draws, then paints screen blocker onto each of the three screens before applying of the three colors of paint. For anyone unfamiliar with that process,…
Timelapse: 60 Hours of Colored Pencil in 60 Seconds w/Cahill Wessel
Cahill Wessel's surreal "Still Life with Pizza Snake" speed drawing is nothing shy of what-the-hell-ya-more-please. On top of three jobs, he squeezed 60 hours in over 14 days to get this thing knocked out from a tiny bedroom in Oakland, CA. He 'explores a middle ground between elegance and kitsch. I merge playful, often low brow, imagery with symbols of power, beauty and sophistication in order to investigate accepted notions of high art.' Naturally, Cahill wrote the music for the vid too. He has an October…
Awesome Typography Vid Using Ira Glass's Classic Creative Advice
Daniel Sax's 'THE GAP' takes Ira Glass's classic creative advice and turns it into something fantastically visual. Glass's words have rippled through the creative community as truth suggesting there is a resolvable gap between your "killer" taste and quality of work. Sax's vid was inspired by David Shiyang Liu's
They Will Skate Again 2015: Life Rolls On Event w/Ezekiel
Ever seen adaptive athletes tear up a skatepark? It'll make you question your definition of the word "challenge". When our buds at Ezekiel asked if we'd support Life Rolls On for their 'They Will Skate Again' event, we jumped at the chance. The non-profit is led by quadriplegic surfer and chief badass, Jesse Billauer.
S6 Timelapse: Hyper-Realistic Eyeball Painting w/Oda & Kit King
Currently living deep in the French Canadian countryside, Society6 artists Oda & Kit King are the epitome of ebb and flow. This timelapse catches the awesome and collaborative journey through one of their many hyper-realistic oil paintings. They're currently pumping out work in preparation for a husband/wife show at Last Rites Gallery, May 14 - June 18, 2016. New York, NY. Big thanks to you two for letting us in and congrats on adding Crook to the fam! Thanks to Jon…
Outside the Lines: Wesley Bird | ep. 01
What can we say? Wesley Bird is one of our own - Society6's Art Director. Since joining the crew in 2013 she's been instrumental in defining the tone of our brand. She's an incredibly talented illustrator, designer and our resident quick whip. Naturally, we figured it was appropriate to launch our new artist-profile series with a true creative hustler from our own team and Society6 member since 2011. We got in her face with some cameras and asked a bunch of ridiculous questions. Somehow, we got her…
Desert's Edge Society6 Festival Lookbook
Recently our little creative team over here at Society6 grabbed some friends and cameras and took off to the desert for a weekend of ruckus (AKA shooting our festival lookbook). We shot bb guns, ripped around on a some motorcycles and most importantly, shot some really rad Society6 product that's perfect for staying cool (both literally and figuratively) during the festival season. See what I did there?! Grab your favorite S6 pillows and tapestries, get cozy in…
S6 Timelapse: 75 Hour Illustration in Under 2 Minutes w/Guillaume Cornet
Boiling 75 hours of ink and color down to two minutes, Guillaume Cornet's latest large-format illustration, Parisian Neighbourhood, was captured in this stop motion time-lapse. After featuring his work on the blog, we knew we wanted to get a few cameras on his time-intensive process. Being Parisian himself, this piece was just…
