Society6 Presents // Photographer Kevin Russ
From freight trains to tundra, Kevin Russ captures his nomadic exploration in utterly understated images taken almost exclusively on his iPhone. While his work is well documented, we wanted to understand the process behind the lens and invited ourselves on one of his trips into the expansive Alaskan wild. What he showed us was truly awe-inspiring. We returned home, resisted the urge to summarily resign for a life on the road and begrudgingly enjoyed the bittersweet process of cobbling the experience…
Public Order Art Show Video & Photos
As a follow up to my recent post about our Public Order art show, we are excited to share a rad video of the night with you! Shot and edited by Mark Underwood, it captures the amazing art from our artists, Kingswell's awesome space and all you cool people who came out to party with us. Check it out and then make sure to not miss the next one!
Society6 Minutes: MINE from Jerzy Goliszewski

Since 2009 Jerzy has been sharing his creative viewpoint with the Society6 community. Just one look at his installation work and you are struck by the planning, dedication and vision required to develop and execute these works of great detail.

When we saw some of his recent video installations we asked him to contribute to Society6 Minutes. He was kind enough to share this ironic and beautiful piece with us. Please enjoy a macro minute where Jerzy shares a view of nature rarely seen and appreciated. http://vimeo.com/channels/society6

He's also issued a print to go along with it so stop and check that out too, http://society6.com/JerzyGoliszewski/...MINE_Print

Society6 Minutes welcomes Clemens Behr with "Flat Forest"

It's tough to talk about the work of Clemens Behr without feeling like you can't do it justice. He's been blowing our minds here at Society6 since the early days of 2009. Before seeing his posts I never realized what you could do with otherwise mundane elements. He covers that in his own words, in his first ever post on Society6:

"Garbagebags and cardboxes are cheap, beautiful, offer a lot of space, are always available, quickly to process, work without electricity and are actually meant for other purposes. Maybe that`s why they trigger my association and by that, develop a special charm, aesthetic and meaning to me..."

Well, they trigger something special in us too. To this day I still look forward to walking through one of his installations and experiencing it first hand. For now, he has been kind enough to share a video of a recent exhibition. Give it a watch and then check out some of his other work.
