S6 Timelapse: Incredible Watercolor Speed Painting w/ Agnes-Cecile

Prepare to be put into a trance. Agnes-Cecile's watercolor painting, "Breathe In, Breathe Out", makes for an impressive timelapse to say the least. Silvia Pelissero, the Italian artist's real name, has a naturally lit studio surrounded by plants in Rome. After a one year break from creating videos, watch her get back into it (which we gladly collab'd on) as she works through the intricate details of her subject's eyes, lips, hair, upper body and plants one stroke at a time. She's earned support in droves for her attention to the emotional draw. With the help of friend and composer, Emiliano Ercoli, they put together a piece we're proud to present.

When you're all good and inspired up, you can buy this high-quality print or choose from an amazing collection of her other pieces here: SHOP Agnes-Cecile.

three QUESTIONS:

BEN: Your work obviously has an emotional depth to it. Trying to achieve anything in particular?

AGNES-CECILE: I'm trying to find a balance between my personal thoughts and readable images. My artworks are about my everyday life, but my purpose isn't show the story itself - just convey the same feeling that moved me.

What from the "everyday" inspired Breathe In, Breathe Out? Is there a personal weight needing lifted?

The first cause of a panic attack is the lack of breathing control and so my home is full of plants. I like to watch how they breathe without struggling to breathe in a "natural" way. They only need light then to blossom or grow. This is what I was thinking...we have to learn to be natural to feel good. This piece is like a note saying "remember how to breathe". Painting these images on paper or canvas helps me to face my troubles.

Any other mantras you live by?

I answered this question years ago, but there is still one thing that is strong inside me. In every field of life, not just in art, it's important that "everything you do, don't overdo it. Be in balance with yourself".
