Seller Tips: Artist Promotion Materials - Edition 2

In the months since our last seller's tips (http://society6.com/r/stap1) we've seen the community as a whole take more advantage of the Artist Promo than ever before.

So in the midst of another Free Shipping Artist Promo (ending June 8th @ midnight), I wanted to take another opportunity to highlight some of the techniques we saw and to recognize some more of the creativity of individual members.

Some things to consider:
- Keep a healthy mix of design and product imagery between posts. Lots of people need clear visuals of what they're potentially being sent to.
- For Instagram posts, update your profile link to be your promo link and let followers know in the caption of your post - "Link in profile!"
- You can link to specific pages and products within your shop by simply adding your unique "?promo=12345" snippet to the end of any link.
- Make longer links less imposing by shortening them with services like - http://goo.gl, https://bitly.com, http://ow.ly
- Be sure to tag new AND old work to ensure it has the best chance of being found by those searching. Simply click EDIT at the top of any designs to add keywords to the description, separated by commas (,).

Keep in mind, the tips above are not exclusive to Society6 and can be employed for all of your personal promotion efforts.

When you're ready to make your own you can grab your unique promo link here: https://society6.com/account/promo

Discovered any other handy tactics for getting the word out about your products? We'd love to hear them in the comments below.

It's hard to miss the bold font, bright colors and cheeky subtext of Nick Volkert's promotion materials. Bonus points for incredibly clear direction and his promo being on fire.

How do you save edits without republishing?

If anyone can assist me with some answers, I would so appreciate it.

A question, If I select "promotion" where does the promo go to? Or is it just a way of saying "I like this?"

I promote all the time, make ads for your special promotions and post them, read up on your thoughts but sales are very slow....7 in a year. I think it is your search algorithms as I can's even find my own work when I use my own key words. I look forward to your response to this issue. Thanks.

Thanks for the wonderful tips!

Hi, everyone! I'm a new guy at Society6 and looking for several showing ways about my artwork for sale.

As Picaso said, for keep living as a substainable artist, earning money is necessary, not only for living, but also for creating artworks. Yes, that's true. I'm not talkative, and open socialised well, saddly I'm pretty much shy person. Last 16 months painful days as an artist pushed me to do some action for sale artwork though.

So, please if you have interest to see new artist, come and see to my shop!
and if you like that, you could buy and share the link with your friends ;) and your friesnd could say thanks to you for recommending. I trust my artwork has worth for that!

Come and See charming printed goods, Yoohoo~ ;^D

Hi, with the new uploader system in place, how would I create a Promo piece to post to Society6 so that is not a piece of art to be sold but simply a promo piece. Before we would uncheck make this an art print. Thank you.

Thank you. I found this very helpful.

Very cool idea but it never seem to work for me with the new uploader system? I tried several times from different ways. There is no live button to save any changes in the text.
