Wall Jewelry by Sara Rose

Inspired by artists such as Munch, Van Gogh, and Picasso, Sara Rose Anderson has a developed and keen eye for the beauty in motion and symbolism. As a young girl, Anderson would watch her mother sit at her easel with endless patience, creating intricate masterpieces with a steady hand and pen. Growing up in an extremely creative household (her mother an artist and father a musician), she was introduced to art and music at a very early age.

Sara Rose Anderson grew up in Northern Michigan, where she spent most of her childhood years. “Living in the woods and spending nearly every day in nature really nurtured my creative spirit. The softness of the breeze, sunlight peeking through pines, the brilliance of freshly fallen snow, the deep blues of the Great Lakes … these experiences taught me to feel my way through life.” explains Anderson.

Anderson’s art has gone through many transitions: from a period of fear, sadness and longing that she felt in her early 20s to a time of love, empowerment and wholeness that she has experienced as a new mother. “When I create, I pour my emotion onto the canvas. I do not hold back! My artwork is an extension of myself. Every single piece has meaning, and my greatest hope is to inspire others!”

Anderson’s work has been featured at the Crooked Tree Arts Gallery in Petoskey, MI and was recently featured on digital billboards across the Tampa Bay Area in a series called “Art on Billboards” sponsored by Clear Channel Outdoor.

Anderson draws much inspiration from the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke and “Man’s Search for Meaning,” written by author and psychologist Viktor E. Frankl.

Her words of advice to young artists? She reiterates the words from “Letters to a Young Poet.”

"Go into yourself and test the deeps in which your life takes rise; at its source you will find the answer to the question whether you must create. Accept it, just as it sounds, without inquiring into it. Perhaps it will turn out that you are called to be an artist. Then take that destiny upon yourself and bear it, its burden and its greatness, without ever asking what recompense might come from outside."

Anderson now resides in Sarasota, FL with her husband, Aaron and their daughter Aria. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going out for delicious dinners (and wine!) in Sarasota, writing music, running and walking down Lido Beach at sunset with her daughter.
