NEW Collaboration: 2014 Limited Edition Artist Calendar

We're looking for 12 artists from Society6 to represent the 12 months of 2014 in our first-ever limited edition calendar!

Some things to help you navigate this collaboration:

1. Please click the purple "apply" button only if you will contribute work if selected. You must apply by no later than October 11th to be eligible to participate.

2. If you are selected, you will be required to create a spread for one of the calendar months. The spread will include one piece of artwork AND your own interpretation of the calendar grid for the days of that month.

3. You are not required to create new artwork to be eligible, but we will encourage the 12 artists that are ultimately selected to make new art (or at least rarely seen before).

4. You will be notified via email for inclusion in this first edition calendar, as well as the accompanying collection that will later be featured in the Society6 store.

@alexandra, this is about showcasing some of the best work from S6 artists as we move into the new year. So beyond the year 2014 itself, there isn't really a theme.

I love the sound of this! It's a great idea. A calendar with a mixture of art and photography would be really nice. I cant wait to see the finished product!

@Beth, Society6 collaborations are designed to create a range of opportunities for S6 members. The goal of every collaboration is to raise the profile of the artists who contribute. We don't compensate because collaborations are not a work for hire - oh, and we lose money on most of them. There are a few exceptions where we include 3rd party brands who may be required to compensate. We also don't conduct contests which we feel exploit artists. Contributors will definitely get a gratis copy of the calendar and promotion far and wide. Thanks for the question.

As Ryan's mother, I will comment for him. With subject matter all over the board, including calendar/weather-related material, I'm sure he would come up with a piece that would wow if he were chosen! He produces 30 to 40 pieces a day anyway, whew, at least 2 or 3 of them are pretty good.

You might have already thought of this, but... if you have problems narrowing it down to only 12, maybe you'd consider putting out an 18 month calendar or even a 24 month calendar? There are less of these available than the traditional 12 month ones, and it might fill a marketing niche helping you sell a larger volume.
