Mr. Vela, born in 1976, is an Italian aerosol artist, painter and illustrator based in Rome. He began his artistic career as a graffiti writer in the early 90s, over time becoming one of the protagonists of the Roman scene.

He works as a programmer and graphic designer for the web, his interest in drawing is contaminated by hip hop, funk and Jamaican Dancehall music.

His passion for vintage comics and retro 60s-70s commercials, combined with his personal style of letters and graffiti, give him the opportunity to revisit a recipe of great visual impact, based on substance and treated in detail with a touch of freshness and originality, also thanks to the use of colors full of energy, typical of the world of graffiti to which it belongs. His works range from ephemeral urban art creations sprayed onto the wall, mixed media works on paper, canvas or large-sized supports, but also sculptures and bas-reliefs of the characters he enjoys creating.

On more than one occasion, this personal style of his made up of details and explosions of colour, which ranges from illustration to painting, from figurative graffiti to clothing graphics, from the design of typographic characters to caligrams, has allowed him to travel by participating in various group exhibitions and numerous conventions both in Italy and throughout Europe.
