Lokhaan is the alter ego of Thibault Meunier, a freelance illustrator, graphic designer and art director based in Paris, France.

After graduating in 2007 from Sainte-Geneviève Institute in Paris with a degree in Film and Animation, Lokhaan then worked in the animation industry for 3 years. Initially, he took on the role of vector artist on the popular French cartoon “WAKFU”, vectoring and colouring characters in preparation to be animated. Following this, Lokhaan then worked as a character designer on the cartoon “Dofus, Aux trésors de Kerubim”.

In 2013, Lokhaan decided to begin his career as a freelance artist, taking on commissions as well as doing personal illustrations, which he turned into prints and t-shirts.

Fed by 80’s and 90’s cartoons and video games throughout his childhood, and later influenced by comic books, science fiction, and electronic music, Lokhaan also takes inspiration from various other mediums: from vintage horror and fantasy VHS covers, to 70’s science fiction book illustrations, among other things.

Lokhaan’s work is a collection of all these elements melted together, where Art Nouveau influences the composition and his love of comic books impacts his drawing style.

Presently, Lokhaan mostly works digitally, occasionally returning to his roots by using more traditional methods, depending on projects. His skills and experiences range from apparel design and band merchandising, to character and logo design, frequently using bold colours with an obsessive attention to detail when inking.
