Kim DeFreece is an artist from Aurora, IL. She attended Illinois State University where she received her Bachelors in Science in Art Education with a concentration in Sculpture. She graduated in 2015.

Kim is currently in Nashville, TN, where she continues to practice art, and teach high school art in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Artist Statement: My Artwork stems from social connection or rather, the lack there of. Being separated from friends and loved ones during the global pandemic of COVID-19, drew me to document these individuals and share through digital platforms. Feeling a sense of connection when illustrating people and then experiencing the connection using social media has given me a sense of community during this time.
