The mandala is historically a form of self exploration and meditation. For me this artform has been shadowing me my whole life. Only recently after having break in my career as a graphic and web designer did I find myself pulled toward making these mandalas with a renewed sence of purpose. It’s now become a compulsion to create. With the world as chaotic as it is right now this is the only thing that has brought a semblance of peace in a world that seems out of control. Putting pen to paper allows a tactile sense to my artwork that is refreshing after over a decade working the digital realm.

Each hand drawn piece has a purpose whether that purpose was dealing with the most recent news in my countries or the injustices we see every day. Every piece has helped me calm my mind and create a space of peace and self reflection, a space to try to bring some beauty into the world.

My hope is that those that view this can also have a small moment of peace amongst the chaos that’s been surrounding us. There is not much we can tangibly do as regular citizens other than hope those in power do some good. My desire is to bring a little bit of beauty and hopefully help people take a moment to just breathe and get lost in the figures, get lost in the mandala. For just a brief moment, quiet your mind. Only with calmness can we bring a sense of peace and love to the world. And that love will be contagious… touching everything we do. Contrasting the hate we are starting to see everyday with just a little bit of beauty.
