I normally use poplar wood planks and rough stain them. Then distress is added with whatever tools are nearby. Finally the shapes are fashioned/colored from tree bark THAT HAS ALREADY FALLEN OFF THE TREE! No trees are harmed in the process. Then obviously I take a hi-res image and have some fun in Photoshop. The original pieces are for sale on Etsy and soon will be available on (fognod.com). Thanks!
