Elysia Yeary

As family legend has it, the only effective time out for me as a child was to take away my crayons / markers / paints / clay / hair dye… I was lucky enough to try and love a ton of art forms, though I haven't used watercolor extensively since I was a preteen (I used acrylic more than anything). In April 2015 I went looking for a poster of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles and came up short, so I decided to create my own - but with a limited, half-dried acrylic palette, I opted for watercolor pencils to sketch and shade the intricate details on the building, and finished with an ancient pan set that seems to have traveled with me through the decades.

I was so happy with the resulting Griffith.City.Sea painting and the medium in general that I continued working with watercolor, delving into favorite movie scenes and commissioned artwork for friends. The overwhelmingly positive support inspired me to open an online store and share my favorite pieces as I go. I am excited to continue building my portfolio, work on passion projects, offer commissioned artwork, illustrate my novel, and to use the pearlescent pan set that I just found at the store - did this exist when I was a kid?!

Thank you for visiting my shop :)
