My ongoing photographic projects, Collide-O-Visions and The Patternism Collection, stem from a personal desire for serenity though symmetry. My artistic eye is hard-wired with a symmetrical slant and a keen awareness for composition. Using a basic mirror-and-tile/kaleidoscopic technique, my goal is to recreate improbable scenarios that are intriguing and believable, in a suspended way. The resulting images, being of an architectural theme or a subject matter from nature, harbor multiple perspectives and scenarios that are engaging to examine. And can be more so, in a meditative sort of way. Especially viewed in a large format, the slightly mesmerizing and a wee bit hypnotic nature of my work strives to promote a modicum of serenity, if one cares to be so engaged. And, perhaps, with a bit of humor or surrealism thrown in there for good measure. My practice is guided by serendipity, synchronicity, intuition, and luck.
