I am a freelance illustrator living in Portland, OR. I work in natural media like watercolor & pen and ink. I love to create work about food and the environment, and am a hobby naturalist. I love to create patterns, maps, and other illustrated educational materials, such as illustrated timelines, and illustrated recipes.

I grew up in eastern Montana, but I studied art and art history at the University of Minnesota, as well as Florence, Italy, where I regularly hung out with THE David, and drew. I graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene, where I received a bachelor of fine arts degree (in printmaking) in 2010.

When not painting, some of my favorite things to do are: boulder, hang out with my sweet blind greyhound dog, and read (before I was an illustrator, I was a freelance arts journalist for years).
