hi there. my name is julie (though most of my friends call me jules). i make art and like to hug people when i first meet them. i would skip in public if it were socially acceptable. on the rainy days here in portland, if i'm not making art, you might find me snuggled up with a hot cup of tea and reading a good book. or at a dive bar. or playing in the puddles. or tweeting. but mostly, i'm drawing or painting, or planning on it.

my goal is to make art that makes people smile, think, react, and most of all: feel. whatever a certain piece may be, I believe that ALL art is, at least in some way --small or large-- a self-portrait of its author.

besides art and antiques: laughter, hugs, and loves from my two extraordinary daughters and badass man-friend get me through my days. i like tattoos and beards. but i have neither....yet.
