The fantasy world of a young child and its unlimited imagination is something, that fascinates me enormously. As they can’t refer to former experiences, simply because they hardly had any, they still have the ability to think and fantasize without boundaries. They can easily step out of the present surroundings, which gives them the liberty to think whatever they want. This, as starting point, forms the basis of my own work. I’d like to take certain well known day to day objects out of their “normal” setting and place them in a completely different one. By doing that, the objects get transformed and this creates a new, fresh way of looking at things. For most people, the all days appearance of things is so obvious, that they don’t bother to create a second thought around it. Through this transformation I get inspired to create new worlds and to expose the naïve, unlimited childishness to the world of adults.
