Charlie Eve Ryan is a freelance illustrator/writer and member of SCBWI. She is active in several online writing/illustrating communities. Children’s Book Hub, Agent Query Connect, The CBI Clubhouse and 12×12. She has a fondness for watercolor pencil, pastels, mixed media digital paint and ink. She lives happily at the top of a hill in a creaky old house with her hubby, two little ones and a couple of overly affectionate cats. Her life is blessed.

The Start of Something Wonderful and First Loves

I was so young when I first read these words and I will never forget the feeling of being hit in the gut and instantly transported into another person’s heart and soul. I was so captured by the moment that words and art would forever weave their way into my life.

Charlotte’s Web was my first love and the start of something wonderful. I am forever thankful for that first line. What is your favorite first line?
