Doves In Flight Framed Canvas

Props to the artist for a beautiful design! Thumbs down to society6 for printing and framing. The artwork is a solid black background with 3 cream colored birds. The canvas print is mounted on a frame and that frame is recessed into an outer dark colored frame and there is a gap between the canvas frame and the outer frame. Unfortunately, the black background of the artwork was not printed to the edge of the canvas. It was only printed to the outside dimensions of the inner canvas frame. So when the canvas was wrapped around the inner frame, the black of the artwork comes just to the front edge of the canvas frame which leaves the outside edges of the frame bright white. The bright white of the canvas frame edges is very noticeable in the dark gap between the inner frame and the outer frame. Dark outer frame, dark artwork, with spots of bright white popping in places around the gap of the inner and outer frame. Especially where the canvas was folded at the corners. If the black background of the artwork had been printed to the edge of the canvas and the color was wrapped completely around the canvas frame, it would have looked more like a "gallery-quality canvas" and less like something you can get off the shelf at Target. I’ll still hang it because I love the artist’s work, but society6’s execution gives it an unrefined, mass-produced feel.
