it has been a long time since i released a print- this is my first in what must be almost a year now. it took an image that i really liked and meant a lot to me to want to release this print edition.

lapin lapin was the first painting i did after my move back to toronto. it started on a night when half of my room still resembled a junk yard. i was tired of cleaning and the move had taken a lot out of me. i had not painted then, for what must have been about three weeks; for someone who paints on almost a nightly basis, i was not very happy. i had to paint and i needed to escape somewhere. picking up a tube of yellow paint, i started to squeeze directly on this 48 x 60" canvas taunting me. it became a journey into a world that i felt i had lost for so long; making this painting brought back a feeling reminiscent of childhood discovery.

i now paint with the hope that my work touches people in the same way. that they can look into my pictures and experience something viscerally without the inhibitions of "adulthood" or "being normal".

lapin lapin marked a big turning point in my painting. i hope to share it with you.

the print is giclee, 8-colour process and measures approximately 13 x 15.75" (33 x 40cm) and the printed image itself is about 12 x 15" (30 x 38cm). this is a limited edition of 20 prints, signed and numbered by me.

hey hey just wanted to mention quickly that i will be at the toronto fan expo this coming august 28-30th (i believe..) and will be sharing a table with the gracious wendy ding.

come out and say hi, i'd love to meet people who are into my work or are creative themselves and want to just hook up maybe for future collaboration or sharing.

i will have some prints, stickers and zines; some of the zines will be brand new and in full greyscale!! lol. there will also be reissues of my older zines with blank covers- these are so that you can get a tasty morsel of a drawing on them when you decide to pick one up.

it should be tons of fun, can't wait to see what the weekend has in store!

here in toronto, summer flies by just like, *snaps finger*.

before it all ended, we decided to do some chalk drawing on my folks' driveway... i hope you can enjoy the photo album.. i know this is something that i will look back on a few years later with great joy and nostalgia.
