'Renmen' is the Haitian word for Love, and the bird in my illustration is the Hispaniolan Trogon, the national bird of Haiti. The Renmen Project has been brought together by the team at Thunder Chunky and Ben The Illustrator in order to raise funds for UNICEF's Haiti Appeal.
I was very honoured to be asked to contribute to the project, and my limited edition signed prints are available right now! They've been printed as A3 posters, printed on lovely High White Smooth 315gsm 100% Cotton Rag, pH neutral, acid-free art paper, using 8-colour Epson UltraChrome K3 ink, and are just £20 each, with all proceeds going to Unicef. Thanks so much to the guys at Ripe Digital and Rik Penny for making this possible, and for their kind donation of time, expertise and materials.
Please support if you can. There are only twenty of these, and several have sold already, so what are you waiting for? Thanks in advance for your generosity. You'll find them at the following link:

Third in a series of famous actor/director portraits, just for my own amusement really. Spending a few hours on these studies in between commercial projects.
One of my absolute favourite movies from 2009 was Gran Torino, which I found to be both brilliantly understated, and incredibly moving. So it made perfect sense to make him the next in the series.

As a huge fan of Jackie Chan, I thought it would be fun to approach one of his very best in a classic movie poster collage style, developing what I did a couple of years ago on a Hot Fuzz inspired piece. I'm hoping to do more of these in the future. The only problem is that I love too many movies!

Sorry for impending capitals, but I'm having a CHRISTMAS SALE! For a limited time you can get this piece (and all my others on here) at a significantly reduced price. In fact this is the first time I've sold this piece, and I'm not planning on selling it for very long, so if you'd like one, now is the time to act!

Another sketch/study for you. This time from Paris, near the Musée d'Orsay.
Sketched from a photo I took in Portugal, when I visited for the Offf design festival 2009.
Lately I've stepped up my observational drawing, and am working through a set of interpretations of photos myself and my fiancée have taken over the last few years. Seeing this tree growing out of the building was pretty odd, and I thought it would make a great subject.
I've given my Bill Murray portrait from Lost in Translation a digital lick of paint for 2009. Still one of my all-time favourite movies, and of course Bill's face does all the work.
