first picture of a new series...characters and human body start merging...

at the moment I'm interested in painting states and sights of peacefull coexistences...here a big kami overgrown by little ones...

the sculpture is made/sewed from cloth, very soft filling, about 1,5m big...the panorama-giclée-print is 4m wide, a drawing which I colored digitally...the whole piece deals with transformation and metamorphosis of structures and shapes, and kamis...it is shown in the annual exhibition of my university (academy of media arts in Cologne, Germany) from 16.-19. July 2009...

Series of portraits of a new breed of my kami-world-characters.
Wanted to create a very reduced and condensed picture of certain "character" traits in combination with moods.
The base drawing was made with pencil, scanned and digitally colored.

Inspired by flowing liquids and japanese woodcut prints. This panorama shows one of my kami-world-characters heading/jumping from one stream to another.

I'm into panoramic pictures. It is one of my personal "kami-world" illustration-pieces (scanned analog drawing with digital coloring).

"Kami" is the japanese shinto term for "soul", "ghost" or "god". The japanese kami-cosmos always inspires me to create new characters and enrich my own "kami-world".
