Rain Dog
Water and rain animals feature often in much of South African mythology. The bushmen had a belief that everything is alive, including the rain, which was brought by a strange creatures living in deep pools of water. In rain-making rituals these creatures would be hunted and captured in the spirit world, which the shamans would enter through trance.
