Emergency Funding! I got it! You can too!
Yesterday, I received a check in the mail from Change Inc. to cover
a shockingly large shipping bill for a sculpture that I had shipped from
a visiting artist exhibition I had in January. If you are finding yourself in
trying times (and who isn't, for some reason or other), and need funds to come quickly -- you should apply to them too. They have a broad understanding of the word catastrophe, unlike some of the other grant organizations that require some more spectacular level of trauma. Finally, while I did have to gather a cv, portfolio, financial statements, publicity materials and two letters of rec -- the funds came one week after I submitted all of that. It is really worth your time to apply.

Current Group Exhibition in Chinatown, and Free Painting Class
The Urban Plein Air Society of Los Angeles has an exhibition in the Telic Public School in Chinatown. It will be open for three weeks, and I have a painting in an auction that benefits the Public School. The Urban Plein Air Society will be meeting again by the LA River, later in July. There is no fee to join, we just bring snacks and work within the context of the river's complex environment.
