This weekend I scavenged some new fabrics in my boyfriend's wardrobe to use for illustrations.

I made this illustration for Providence Monthly to accompany an article about water quality in public pools. Sometimes it can be a real challenge to find a fabric with the right color and pattern to fit an image, but this was an easy choice- the geometric forms remind me of tiny bacterium or something.

Trying something new... illustration inspired by a photo for Kate Spade's new collection. I used a combination of new and vintage fabrics; the blouse pattern comes from a vintage hankie.
I fell in love in South County, a part of Rhode Island that doesn't exist on maps, characterized by farms and lighthouses and rocky shores. It feels like home.
