"Inverness" is a poem I wrote while travelling in Scotland about five years ago. I was inspired by these brilliant red berries, and a tour-guide told me the trees were called Rowan. When I got back to America, I hand-set the type and printed it on an antique letterpress machine. I put the prints in a box and kept them there for a long time, until just recently when I pulled out them out and watercolored a vegetal/berry motif onto each of them. Finally, they feel finished to me.

In case you're wondering, Inverness is a city in northern Scotland and very close to Loch Ness. (I never did see Nessie. Those waters are dark!)
