Heroes & Villains project room photos
Beyond Eden Art Fair was a huge success, thanks to all who came by to check out the exhibition.
Roman did an amazing job setting up a special project room off the side of the main gallery that showcased polariods, proof sheets, tests, outtakes, notes, and of course the famous dioramas to let viewers in on a bit of our process in getting to the final images.
It was a real favorite with the founders of the fair!

Dang! Martin Cendreda
Visited Martin and his rapidly growing family while in LA last week. We drove around looking for a cool location or two that incorporated his portrait with the fact that he's a native Angeleno. LA also serves as the backdrop of his comics and plus it was just fun. He knew every street, nook and cranny of his neighborhood. We ended up getting hungry, had thai food and got a great shot of him behind his house after all that driving around.

Sunday Photos with Jeff Soto...
Spent part of a Sunday photographing Mr. Soto at his studio in Riverside last week. When we arrived, there was a piece laid out on the floor he'd done with his daughter. Watercolors on letter sized paper he was putting together for an upcoming show. I'd heard he and some other artists had been collaborating with their kids. It's neat to see. The folks at arrested motion did an interview with him where he touches on this, where his work is going and why.

Check out Jeff's website too: http://www.jeffsoto.com/
A great way to spend a Sunday, I must say. Many thanks to Jeff, especially for taking us to the yummy taco place, showing us the falcon tattoo and being so darn nice.

Tom Neely
A while back we photographed Tom just after his show at Black Maria Gallery in LA. His work includes comics, graphic novels and works on paper.
He's got some new stuff out, and since I like to promote the artists that I photograph, thought I'd post up his info here. Plus there is of course a little of Roman and I photographing him!

Heroes and Villains photographs Camille Rose Garcia
Camille spent some time with us the day before her big show at Merry Karnowksy (special thanks to Merry for being awesome as usual!) in Los Angeles.
She arrived with the most amazing black dress, kick ass shoes and gobs of Tarina Tarantino jewelry.
Here are a couple of shots of us doing our thing. As usual, I'm obsessing over the hair. Camille let me use lots of hairspray, so I was happy.
Got some great film on this one, folks.

Do you Diorama too?
Fun with teensy pictures and foamcore. Roman is the master builder of each and every gallery mockup. I used to make fun of him. Now, of course I think it's genius and try to take all the credit!
This one is for Beyond Eden at Barnsdall, October 9-11 in LA, where HnV has a room of our very own, courtesy of Andrew Hosner of Thinkspace/Sour Harvest. Yay!

HnV photographs Anthony Lister in LA
Happened to catch up with Mr. Lister as he prepared for his show at New Image. Special thanks to Marsea for setting aside space for us to invade.
We got to see him in action as he applied some finishing touches to a large scale spongebob. He couldn't find a suitable place to mix up paint, so he cut a deflated basketball in half, poured some paint in and viola!
He's in NY next doing some group shows, look him up and go check it out if you're in either city.
I've included some test shots, etc. for your enjoyment.
Mr. Lister, if you read this. Sorry bout all the cigarettes!
