I had the pleasure of attending an architectural tour in Portland OR this past weekend. We saw some very interesting homes and condos from a core group of young architects in Stumptown. The tour was called 11 x Design http://www.11xdesign.com/ and featured projects in various states of completion. the key thing in portland is lots of light and most of these fit that bill. here are some pics of the homes we saw. One of our favorites is the Z-Haus which is configurable on the inside, so you can set up the rooms to be whatever you need i.e. living room, bedroom etc by just sliding a wall to create privacy...or not.

Buenos Aires has the oldest subway in South America . The interior of the subway is of wood and is a trip back in time.

La Boca is a neighborhood, or barrio of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. The corrugated roof style of the houses and the customs reflect the European influence, mainly southern Italian, who arrive between 1860 and 1910.

Located in one of Istanbul’s most populated and diverse neighborhoods, Beşiktaş is an eclectic area with a village-like atmosphere that is in the process of urban renewal.

The Beşiktaş Fish Market is located on a triangular site. It is an iconic venue where many locals and visitors buy fresh fish daily. The construction of the old fish market was in very poor shape and needed to be replaced.
